2007-10-01 [Silverbullet]: The trouble with Gms adding badges when the character achieves the number of missions required is that, some badges require 2 to 4 missions. So if the character is always under the same GM, then everything's fine, but if he completes missions in different areas, the GMs won't necesarilly know how many missions he completed before hand..

2007-10-01 [Veltzeh]: Well, I usually try to do it, but sometimes people level up by themselves... :o

2007-10-01 [Silverbullet]: That's good, Sturmi, but there's already a spot for arena kills in the default bio so we might want to simply make it "Assasination quests: 0"

2007-10-01 [Sturmi]: kay... to add the banner you'll have to keep that in mind though.
Well I think the GM in charge of the quest should update the counting list once the quest is completed. If it happens to reach 2 or 4 or the number required for the banner, then the same GM adds the banner...

2007-10-01 [Silverbullet]: Aye, sounds good to me ^_^

2007-10-02 [Sturmi]: Something else: I sent messages to random people promoting the Arena. With some luck, we might get a few new players.

2007-10-02 [Silverbullet]: Random spamming? We can do that :D
What kind of message did you send?

2007-10-02 [Sturmi]: "Hello, I thought you might be interested in joining an RPG game. Some people and I are running currently the Realms of Lemire Arena, which has been up for quite some time, and needs "new blood" to make the game more interesting.
Maybe you could take a look at it, and see if you'd like to join."
if you've got any questions, ask me or post them at the comments box at Realms of Lemire Arena.

2007-11-06 [Silverbullet]: Okay GMs! Is anyone against giving 75 Exp upon completion of a quest?

2007-11-06 [Veltzeh]: I thought 75 XP for an easy mission, maybe 250 for a medium one and 500 for a hard one?

2007-11-06 [Sturmi]: I agree with that.

2007-11-06 [Silverbullet]: Ah, even better ^^

2007-11-07 [Blood Raven]: agreed

2007-11-19 [Sturmi]: how does the pet-leveling work?

2007-11-19 [Silverbullet]: As of yet, Veltz has me looking to lemirian wolf for both wolf and panther leveling.. Still need to know how HP and MP work, though.. *pokes Veltz*

2007-11-19 [Veltzeh]: I think they work the same as for fighter classes.

2007-11-19 [Silverbullet]: Half con to HP every level and Half Mag to MP when they increase mag?
And Dur posted a comment in lemirian wolf saying he'd work on the system for pets..

2007-11-19 [Veltzeh]: Yeah... Finally Dur does something, even if it's just to counter my efforts.

2007-12-04 [Sturmi]: is someone making a marketing campaign for the arena? to congratulate the guy, since we're getting some new players :p

2007-12-04 [Grengo]: Though at the same time, lost quite a few too. <_>

2007-12-04 [Duredhel]: -_- yer welcome.

2007-12-04 [Sturmi]: the lost ones were lost for a while I think. Its not the advertising fault.

2008-01-02 [Sturmi]: Hello. Does the mage tower sell gems? Mika just asked that... and Emilia doesn't know what to answer. O_o

2008-01-02 [Veltzeh]: No clue, but why not? :)

2008-01-02 [Duredhel]: Doesn't. Tis best if gems are a found resource.

2008-01-02 [Sturmi]: So no one sells gems? Not even the pawn shop?

2008-01-02 [Duredhel]: Kudom can sell whatever gems are sold to him :3

2008-01-02 [Sturmi]: ok ^_^

2008-01-06 [Silverbullet]: Is there a penalty for losing circus maximi?

2008-01-06 [Grengo]: I don't think so. Some player here lost in a circus maximus not too long ago, didn't they?

2008-01-06 [Silverbullet]: I think so... I know I haven't been giving anyone penalties for losing..
But should there be something if they lose? Losing to another player means one item and half of their gold... why would monsters be safe?

2008-01-06 [Lepellier]: I lost in a CM, and nothing happened to Aiden...atleast nothing I can remember...

2008-01-07 [Grengo]: Because they're NPCs. >.>

2008-01-08 [Blood Raven]: I think that's why CM is so popular. It spits out large amounts of XP, but you can't lose items or anything important to your character with it. Even though right now, if I had won from somebody at an arena fight, I'd probably go for the dolls.

2008-01-08 [Silverbullet]: That's definitely why CM is so popular. Nobody really likes the chance of losing their character's equipment.

2008-01-08 [Veltzeh]: I tried really hard to only up Tylien's skills and magic and not get it any expensive items, because it's easier to get score from battles against other characters. >_>

2008-01-08 [Grengo]: CMs don't raise your win loss record, though, but yeah, they're great.

2008-01-08 [Veltzeh]: I'll just whine because no one wants to battle against my characters. :P

2008-01-08 [Grengo]: Tylien vs Virul Part 2! :O

2008-01-08 [Veltzeh]: ...And those who do want to fight are too powerful. Tylien's 9 hit points won't like Virul's four attacks per turn. X)

2008-01-08 [Grengo]: Handicap match :D Virul won't use two weapon fighting. <.<

2008-01-08 [Veltzeh]: Hmmm... Hey, Tylien could technically stay airborne all the time. :D That would balance it a little without any handicap.

2008-01-08 [Grengo]: Indeed. >.> But a handicap would still be good. Tyl's HP is too low.

2008-01-08 [Veltzeh]: Yeah. I think the HP for mages is just way too low, especially when the race is not fighter-oriented. >_< Well, anyone who gets 1 HP per level or every other level is too low. And even 2 per level is too low in the long run...

2008-01-08 [Grengo]: Mention that to Dur. Heck, even having maybe 15+ MAG stats doesn't really guarantee all that high of MP.

2008-01-08 [Blood Raven]: first thing I do for all of my chars is raise their CONs to at least 6 if they're mages, or 8 if they're fighters. Otherwise, I just feel I don't have enough BAD (Buffer Against Death). I guess that does mean something about the HP/MP system. Either that, or chars just up their ATK and DEF too fast :P

2008-01-12 [Veltzeh]: Anyone want to play Rizzo for a while? [Sturmi]? [Blood Raven]?

2008-01-12 [Grengo]: [Silverbullet] won't be able to?

2008-01-12 [Lepellier]: He's away for a week.

2008-01-12 [Sturmi]: okay I guess I could play Rizzo for a while

2008-01-28 [Sturmi]: hello people,
I think we're running out of easy and medium quests at the RoL Arena Bulletin Board, so if you've got ideas to suggest, please do so.

2008-01-28 [Silverbullet]: Hmm, okidoki. I'll get on that for Rizzo!
Also, while we're on the subject of running out of stuff, did the Stables have a rule as to what types of pets would be available when or how they re-stocked?
And Veltz, I'll need you help in making stats for a Tiger cub pet ^^

2008-01-28 [Blood Raven]: Alright people, I'm going to put money bonuses in the arenas on certain combat modes, so that the less used combat types might become more popular. And I'll try to think of some quests.

2008-01-28 [Veltzeh]: How's this? I can edit it and then paste it into the bio so you don't need to type the code again.

Tiger

Experience / To next level – 0/350

STR – 6
CON – 4

Grapple Bite – Tigers can attempt to hold down their enemies by biting and clawing them. If they succeed they deal d4 damage every turn until they are killed or they let their victim go.
Roar – Tigers can roar to intimidate opponents. If they succeed on a charisma roll, d4 enemies are stunned for a number of turns equal to the difference between the rolls or until they succeed on the charisma roll or are attacked.
Charm – The pet can attempt to charm any humanoid creature with a charisma roll. When charmed, the creature won't attack the pet for d4 + level turns unless the pet attacks the creature.

2008-01-29 [Silverbullet]: That's absolutely splendid Veltz! :D
Thanks!

Hum, the page is Anya. Mind the space before the name, otherwise you won't get the right page if you try typing it yourself :P

2008-01-29 [Blood Raven]: try finding Mela's page. Type it without the <b > and you'll end up on the shittiest RP ever :P You should try it, I ended there yesterday and laughed my ass off. Just keep following the links till you find a page where there's actual RP text XD

2008-01-29 [Sturmi]: LOL! God, Veltzeh would get a heart attack by reading that aberration of the language

2008-01-29 [Blood Raven]: It's horrid, isn't it? X)

2008-01-30 [Silverbullet]: Oh fuck! XD

2008-02-01 [Blood Raven]: I'll be gone for a week, starting this sunday, so I won't be able to manage any arena fights or the temple. I'm sure some of you can temporarily take over. About the Rysallean Survival match: [Adaman] said he was going to make a map, so we're waiting till that pops up.

2008-02-01 [Lepellier]: And did you have a clue for what monsters? Maybe you should check in with Adaman about GM'ing that match?

2008-02-01 [Silverbullet]: Well I can't GM it, Byron's participating :D

2008-02-01 [Lepellier]: Well, sounds like either Veltzeh, or Adaman. <img:stuff/mood5-gif.gif>

2008-02-01 [Veltzeh]: I vote Adaman.

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: So I says, says I and I says to myself, I says: I be knowin' the council be prolly only fer the most experienced of Lemurs... I mean Lemirians, but hell's bells, even they must be needin' some help around the place.
So I am hereby volunteering for any work, small or otherwise, you might need done around here that is within my capabilities.
Have I ever GM'd a campaign? No. I have, however, seen my fair share of campaigns, played more than a few characters and I do believe I have a fairly good experience in Role-play with a D&D background. But you might be able to see that for yourselves in my characters around RoL and the Arena.
So, apprenticise me, hire me as assistant, lieutennant or abuse me in anywhich way you may see fit.
In any case, I want to do my part for Lemire. I've grown quite fond of the place, and I want to help keep this show on the road.

2008-02-02 [Veltzeh]: Hmm, the doll hunt thing could really use some overseer. Some of the removed characters have dolls and they haven't been put back into the play. In fact, no one really knows where the nonfound dolls are! So, it'd be great if you could handle that. It does, however, mean that your characters can't take part in the dollhunt. So, if you do want to take part in it, you could just gather the information on who all characters (even dropped ones) have what dolls and then give me the list, and I'll actually hide them somewhere. X)

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: Jawohl!
I didn't really want to take part in that, anyway.
So, could you fax me all the info you have on the dolls? That is to say, if you know of any current hiding places, spot rolls required, if Dur had some specific tricks that they could do, and any other such relevant info.
I'm off to work :D

2008-02-02 [Blood Raven]: Well, like Veltz mentioned, none of us really know where the dolls are. Far as I know, the only thing that they can do is say some line which refers to the depicted character, and give your a +1 cha bonus. We know nothing about spot checks, hiding places, or any such thing. You should probably think of all that stuff on your own. Ask around for area maps or anything. Check for cool locations, such as the filthy lizard inn and put a doll somewhere fancy. You could, for example, just place one or two in the temple catacombs, I can send you a map of those, or in the Rysallean woods or the Koe Islands, I dunno. Message their respective GMs for maps of those.

2008-02-02 [Blood Raven]: Oh, and check the dropped char lsit for dropped chars who had dolls, and think of a new place for them. And you should create dolls of the characters who weren't around when the dolls first appeared. There are no dolls of them yet, but it would be cool to have them appear now and then.

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: Already got the dropped char's dolls.
So I'm starting from scratch. Ok, then I guess I'll be making dolls of the chars that haven't been "voodooed" yet and start scavenging for hiding places.
Is there anyone else who should know what I'm doing here? (i.e.: dolls made, dolls' placements, etc.)

2008-02-02 [Blood Raven]: I'm not sure I understand what you mean...

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: I mean, am I the only one who knows where those dolls are, or do I report to someone?

2008-02-02 [Blood Raven]: You're the only one. We all have chars, so it would be unfair if we knew where they are. You could always ask Dur if you have questions about proper locations, or, if you keep the questions vague, you could ask us :P

2008-02-02 [Lepellier]: Do we want to keep the dolls of the dropped characters, or should we freshen the place up and replace those? Oh, and for the woods...I don't have any of those maps (Though I could use some) I don't have a map-making program, nor the artistic skill to make them look good, so I've just been doing everything in my head.

2008-02-02 [Veltzeh]: I'll say we keep the dolls of the dropped chars until they're taken to Claire. Claire then keeps those dolls.

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: There's three of those.
I'm not sure I follow you, Veltz. Who's taking them back to Claire?

2008-02-02 [Lepellier]: Th characters who find them...the whole thing about the dolls is that there's a reward for returning them to Claire.

2008-02-02 [Veltzeh]: The people who find them. Claire will only re-hide dolls of characters who are still around. But then, that's [Blood Raven]'s area.

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: Right, but if the dolls are already in the possession of a char who is to be dropped (or already dropped in the case of Lhayav), how do the other characters find them?

2008-02-02 [Veltzeh]: You just "take" them and hide them?

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: That's what I thought. Y'all had me confused for a second.

Anyways, moot poit right now. I messaged Dur and he said we should just make a wiki with the list of the dolls and a GM can pick when (s)he wants to put a doll in one of his/her areas.

In his words:
"When a GM wants to hide a doll, he can hide it in one of his areas and you write (Hidden) next to the doll. That way all GMs know that doll has been hidden, but only the GM who hid it knows where it is. Since GMs are already restricted in playing their charas in their own areas, that won't affect them negatively. When a character finds a doll, you replace the (Hidden) with (Character's name). That way too, other players will have an easy time finding out who has which dolls and go and kill'em, conflict ensues, and conflict is always good. That would also be the only way your charas could also gather dolls, given that you know which GM hid which dolls, you can't have your charas go and look for them. However, since everyone knows which player has which dolls, you killing a player and taking his dolls wouldn't be an unfair advantage."

2008-02-02 [Silverbullet]: Quite wonderful :D
How should a GM go about hiding the dolls, though? Are clues a good idea, or is just hiding them somewhere and waiting for someone to go find them better?

2008-02-02 [Blood Raven]: I think every GM is completly free to decide that for him/herself. You could always add them as a quest reward, or put them in a hidden room, requiring players to do a search check. However, only hide dolls when you know players are coming. Otherwise, they'll just rot away in some area where nobody ever shows up... And if the players fail to find it, place it somewhere else, or 'unhide it' (put it back on the list)

2008-02-02 [Silverbullet]: Aye aye.

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: So... do you want me to make an inventory of dolls? One for each new player, existing ones, ones on dropped chars, etc.

2008-02-02 [Veltzeh]: Yep, that would be great.

2008-02-02 [Anomynous]: Aye, am on it.

2008-02-05 [Anomynous]: Master of Dolls. There's the list of the dolls found and their respective owners. I'm working on punchlines for the others now.

2008-02-05 [Lepellier]: As if the wiki pages punchline isn't enough...or am I the only one who sees the Metallica reference in that?

2008-02-08 [Silverbullet]: I got it ;P

Anyone know of anywhere I can spam a bit to find new players? I figure we should concentrate on a 40/60 ratio of good RPers (60%) and 14 year olds (40%). Veltz will have a heart attack, but we'll mold the 14 y-o kiddies into better RPers and they'll eventually take over, when we all reach the age of 50 and start to go senile :P

We might also want to try and think up a few good keywords to give the page, so people can find us on their own, too.

2008-02-08 [Sturmi]: lol
lets start the spamming campaign!

Also: we should maybe do a "quick guide to the arena"... some people seem to get very confused by our front wiki

2008-02-08 [Anomynous]: How about 16-year olds?
I mean... think about poor old Veltz's condition :p

2008-02-09 [Veltzeh]: I don't mind people who are younger than me, though...

2008-02-09 [Sturmi]: ...as long as they can write decently and don't confuse genders

2008-02-09 [Veltzeh]: Indeed, and that applies to all ages. :)

2008-02-09 [Silverbullet]: Aye, we'll give Veltz some people to nag about its and it's :D

2008-02-11 [Blood Raven]: has vetlz been to that happy wiki page we laughed at earlier yet? :P
And I find the 'random members' button very usefull in spamming. Justk eep clicking untill you find a roleplayer. Also check comment boxes in RoL for comment made by non-RoL users, and ask them if they want to join. It could be that they were interested, but were confused by our page and justn eed a little more guiding :P

2008-02-11 [Silverbullet]: Aye aye! *spams*

2008-03-01 [Veltzeh]: To celebrate my birthday (which is tomorrow), would someone else please handle pay day? XD

2008-03-11 [Silverbullet]: Maybe we should encourage combatants to keep a list of scars from wounds they died from, just for funs?

2008-03-11 [Silverbullet]: Oh and Veltz, did anyone finally take care of Payday? <img:stuff/mood14-gif.gif>

2008-03-11 [Sturmi]: ouff... I think someone actually chopped off Tiae's head once. I don't think that would make a pretty scar O_o

Anyways, I've got a question: people has come to the mage tower asking for enchantments for their items. Should I send them to the training areas to get them, or should Emilia be able to enchant stuff? Mage tower could be then a bit more like a magical smithy....

2008-03-11 [Veltzeh]: A scar list would be great! XD
Nope, no one has taken care of pay day. I'm still waiting. Otherwise I'll just wait until April and then give negative money. :P
Sturmi, that's a pretty good idea, but Emilia can't know all magic... She'd be able to enchant spells of two colors and one non-color at the best if we don't consider combination magic. You can decide if she can do some enchanting.

2008-03-11 [Sturmi]: maybe she's got a magical enchanting machine hidden in the tower? XD

2008-03-11 [Silverbullet]: We might want to send people looking for enchantments to the trainers, to keep their asses from taking up root in their chairs. Emilia could be used as a back-up, if ever the trainer is busy with a student. She could be able to perform only lower-level enchantments, though.. or something.

As for scars, it'd build street cred! :D

2008-03-12 [Silverbullet]: Pay day is done!

2008-03-12 [Veltzeh]: Whoo!
Enchanting machine sounds cool. XD

2008-03-13 [Blood Raven]: remember to lodge it against the wall, otherwise Virul will take it for a hike.

2008-03-19 [Sturmi]: everyone! After a hard year of work, I'm having my well deserved vacations and on friday I'll be taking a plane to Peru!

So I'm going to be out of the internet until the 29th of march. While I'm gone, someone will have to take care of the Training Areas, Pawn Shop, Mage Tower, and the rest of the stuff that's on my list, being those three the most visited (specially Emilia and Abbot).
Tiae is currently dead (again), so no worries about her.

Any volunteers?

2008-03-19 [Silverbullet]: Dibs on Pawn shop! :D

2008-03-19 [Blood Raven]: I can do the mage shop, and I guess the training areas as well, until thy return.

2008-03-19 [Sturmi]: thank you both! *mwha*

2008-03-20 [Silverbullet]: Hey doods! What's the way to calculate the price for stat-training again?

2008-03-21 [Sturmi]: old stat * 15

2008-03-21 [Silverbullet]: Right, thanks ^_^

2008-03-21 [Veltzeh]: I'll handle the Koe Islands.

2008-03-31 [Sturmi]: I'm back home! Thank you everyone, you can leave the stuff to me again :)

2008-03-31 [Veltzeh]: Yay! :)

2008-03-31 [Sturmi]: hahah, you did a great job at Koe

2008-03-31 [Veltzeh]: Hopefully that gave a few ideas. X)
It was a little strange that the mission mentioned a temple at the summit when there's actually a shrine, but well. Probably a typo. XD

2008-04-17 [Sturmi]: hey everyone... I've some information to share (again):
- turns out I'll be traveling to the USA in 11 days. Specifically I'll be going to L.A. This is my first work-related trip ever (and I'm so excited! heheh).
- I'll be gone just for 5 days, and I'll probably have internet ('cause I'll be working...) but anyways, someone might need to cover for me.
- I'm sick right now and need to get better FAST. I've a flu or something. I hate being sick. Okay. That's all.

2008-04-17 [Blood Raven]: Hope you get better soon :)
And I'm sure LA will be really cool (even though I have never even been anywhere remotely near it). As before, I think we'll be able to manage your areas until you get back. They aren't that busy right now anyway, lots of chars are away on some quest or arena fight :)

2008-04-28 [Sturmi]: Okay I'm leaving tonight! I'll be reporting back sometime before sunday I hope :3

2008-04-28 [Silverbullet]: Have a good trip!
We'll hold down the fort <img:44166_1164144907.gif>

2008-05-09 [Silverbullet]: Anyone remember what the name of the page for our Arena NPCs was?

2008-05-09 [Sturmi]: they're seriously out of date though

2008-05-09 [Veltzeh]: It just occurred to me that whoever it was that corrected some typos and such on the character pages could've also given out some pay for the last month. I've been totally swamped and forgot, whee. -_- (Also, I'm still swamped.)

2008-05-09 [Silverbullet]: Twas I who went around correcting typos and such...

..I can do the paydays for April too, I guess... but I don't really want to be permanently in charge of it.

2008-05-09 [Silverbullet]: And thanks Grengo!

2008-05-09 [Blood Raven]: so, Sb will do payday april and may?

2008-05-09 [Silverbullet]: Aye, fine. April now, May at the end of May :P

Who'll do June/July?

2008-05-09 [Silverbullet]: Btw guys, I was going through Smiths histories and Lia, Abby, Aura and Claire are listed as the people able to enchant weapons. Aura and Claire obviously take care of black/white enchantments. Lia is both a flame bearer and plague bearer, so she does that, and Abby has frost and wind. ;P

2008-05-09 [Grengo]: Cool.

2008-05-09 [Silverbullet]: There's a few cool things in them there histories! Did you know, Rizzo can't perform any magic? IQ problem. (Though smithing success is determined by Int, slight inconsistence, but meh.)
He also doesn't carry any magical items in the shop, so people who want some will be redirected to the mage tower.

And I found a neat device, that I've called the teletransportater, which Rizzo uses to bring in items that are out of stock. Boom and it's back in stock XD
Going to have to figure out how to determine what's in stock and all though.. or not.

Also, Rizzo liked to send people off on material-collecting quests for slightly rarer weapons and armor.. should I bring that back, or do we like that he's got a huge stock of everything?

2008-05-10 [Veltzeh]: I still do the payday updates in general. This past month I've just been really busy...

2008-05-10 [Sturmi]: I say you bring back the quests for rare weapons!

2008-05-10 [Silverbullet]: Payday for April done!

2008-05-10 [Grengo]: Thankee (b=3=)b

2008-05-12 [Blood Raven]: thou art awesome!

2008-05-12 [Silverbullet]: O_o

2008-05-19 [Silverbullet]: Hokay people! How do we make PvP battles more popular?

Impose a limit of CM battles per person/ a ratio between PvP and non-PvP matches?
Impose a fee for Monster battles? Costs for maintaining the monster, food and health care, import. :D

Etc?

2008-05-19 [Sturmi]: charging per fight could work... but, hum, maybe we could generate a plot and have people hate each other enough to fight one another :p

I think Adaman and Grengo attempted something of the sort by trying to form guilds. Maybe we could do something like that. And get quests like "kill someone from guild X", heheh

2008-05-19 [Grengo]: Charging per battle for circus maximus sounds like a good enough idea. Maybe 20 GP for easy fights per person, 40 for normal, 60 for hard. As for PvP, I believe not many people use it due to the crippling effect that losing would have (half gold and an item). Maybe instead of losing both half gold and an item, it can be an either/or (most people will pick the item, I think <_<).

2008-05-19 [Silverbullet]: Hmm, plot and hate are a good idea, but I don't know if it should be achieved through guilds... The Arena should be a guild in itself, really, so having guilds inside the Arena might just be us making things too complicated..

We could have the shopkeeps/referees post quests that would pit certain people against others and create competition between people. Dolls could be used.

What would be neat is another Tournament, but with people scattered doing other quests and battles, might be a tad hard to organize...

2008-05-19 [Silverbullet]: Either or could be an alternative for PvP *nods*
At least for lower levels of fight..

2008-05-19 [Grengo]: You can also try shaking up the rankings a little bit by offering special rewards to whoever defeats any of the top three members of the arena. Gives an incentive for the lower echelon to try harder, and for the top three to eventually target one another if the reward proves appetizing enough.

2008-05-19 [Silverbullet]: We could have lower-levels team up against individual higher-levels!

2008-05-19 [Silverbullet]: Aaaand more history-readings, this time in smiths-comments:

Apparently, "Pistols and Muskets are rare. You see, the only army in the world that had muskets and cannons were the Elite Musketeer Corps of Nerva before the war of corruption, during the battle of Paladin's fall the corps were destroyedv and most muskets and guns were rendered useless, the remaining ones fell in Tharezian hands, as with everything, however, the eventual musket or pistol can be found throughout the realms. Bullets are easy cuz they are the same lead bullets used for slings, gunpowder however..."
Aaaaand, Rizzo doesn't sell firearms. But someone else in the Arena does.

Also: "I (Dur) usually gives players stuff for their bdays."
Do we bring that back? What to give if we do?

2008-05-20 [Veltzeh]: I haven't avoided PVP fights, but they are generally annoying because the loser just loses so much. No XP, money's gone, the best item is gone. I think it could be changed so that the referee just gives the winner a monetary reward equal to the opponent's level * 10 or something. Heck, even the loser could be compensated a bit! "Here, have a lesser healing potion for the next time."

2008-05-20 [Blood Raven]: Yeah, PVP is mainly so unpopular because the penalties are really rough. Cutting that down a bit would make a big difference, I think

2008-05-20 [Sturmi]: so we change the penalty of the PvP fights, then, instead of charging a tax for CM?

2008-05-21 [Blood Raven]: taxes are lame, as always :)
Besides, fighting should be free. People will simply start to go to the grounds to find beasties. That's what I'd do anyway.
I think [Adaman]'s proposal of making it an OR construction might work. One item OR half gold, not both.

2008-05-21 [Sturmi]: still everyone would pick the item..... I mean, lately there are some characters who have invested a great deal in their items making them superpowerful.
Then again, if I stole such an item, the previous owner would come after me for certain, which could add some excitement to the place.

2008-05-21 [Silverbullet]: Aye!
Plus that's also why I decided to have Byron invest in himself, rather than equipment. Can't steal stats :D

2008-05-21 [Veltzeh]: I say the characters could decide whether they're fighting for the item or the gold.

2008-06-02 [Silverbullet]: May's payday is done!

2008-06-02 [Sturmi]: lol, now it's juni's payday time >_<

2008-06-02 [Grengo]: Thanks, silver :D

2008-06-02 [Silverbullet]: Juni's payday time is at the end of june, so no worries, eh? :D

And you're very much welcome ^___^

2008-06-03 [Silverbullet]: Yo Council! Had some free time yesterday and doodled what I thought the Arena layout might look like:
<img150*0:stuff/RoLALayout1.jpg>

What do you guys think? Did I leave anything out? Something need changing? Did I totally waste my time? XD

2008-06-03 [Sturmi]: I love it! we should totally put it somewhere :D

2008-06-03 [Veltzeh]: Ooh, cool!

2008-06-03 [Grengo]: Nice, very nice. Good job.

2008-06-04 [Blood Raven]: I be thinkin' I'ma drool over it *drool*

2008-06-04 [Silverbullet]: Nou! The paper! You'll ruin it! D:

And note! We have a council chamber!

2008-06-04 [Sturmi]: bwahahah, we're in the middle of the place

2008-06-05 [Lepellier]: Hah, should we make our own characters to have in the chamber? XD

2008-06-05 [Sturmi]: whoo and be like demi gods or speaking statues or something, lol. I don't think its a good idea.

2008-06-06 [Silverbullet]: Actually... That could be interesting. Make characters that are us, I mean us as characters!

But I was thinking of the Chamber as just for show. Except if we want to have events take place in there, like when people are accorded a new Badge, we could have a ceremony. Same for tournament declarations and podium, etc?

2008-06-06 [Lepellier]: That sounds like an idea...I wouldn't mind have representations of us in there, just because.

2008-06-06 [Duredhel]: It would be a good idea if like, half the players in RoLA weren't IN the council. You guys need more people playing.

2008-06-06 [Grengo]: Ha, seriously xP

2008-06-06 [Sturmi]: that's what I was thinking.

2008-06-06 [Lepellier]: *sighs* Sad, but true...maybe after a recruitment drive, we can stock the council!

2008-06-06 [Blood Raven]: Hand out awards for anybody who plays RoLA "simply for being cool"...

2008-06-06 [Silverbullet]: I've got another recruit-in-the-making line up for character creation. She's making sure her character is extraordinary, though, so it's taking a while, and she's being all secretive about the details, so I don't know much about her character.
But that's still +1! :D

And I had another potential player in my sights, but he suddenly got busy. Said maybe 'later'.

Buuuut I'll send out another wave of recruitment forms ^______^

2008-06-10 [Silverbullet]: Oi, btw Council!
Concerning Rizzo's new quest that asks players to bring back 'Material' for personalized equipment: When a combatant is out and about in the Grounds, he can collect Material wherever and however. We all know mining Skaradian ore is good, or Silver or whatever other ore, but they can also try bringing back various monster-parts (ex: Rizzo can use Redclaw feathers to make swift gloves), etc. I'll be keeping an eye out for creativity :P
So, yep. Just to let Grounds-GMs know that players can loot pretty much anything for that quest.

2008-06-11 [Sturmi]: great, sounds like fun

2008-08-07 [Silverbullet]: June's payday is done, and I still need to do July's... just because I hadn't realized we were two months behind while I was doing paydays >_<

2008-08-08 [Veltzeh]: I'll just whistle over here... >_> ->

2008-08-08 [Silverbullet]: Well, as I said, July's payday still needs to be done, if you feel like whistling while doing something X)

2008-08-08 [Veltzeh]: Nah, but I can spew out a quick complaint about my life being busy as heck lately, if needed. :P

2008-08-08 [Silverbullet]: I think a few of us 'older' members are finding life to be busy!
I know my few last months have been a madhouse. And since I'm moving out on the 16th of August to get my -almost- own place and follow refrigeration classes for the next 2 years, my dad and I have been rushing even more to finish the contracts we have started before he 'loses' me to classes :P

2008-09-28 [Sturmi]: Hi all,
a friend lend me his wacom tablet 'cause I'm considering finally buying one. I had never used a tablet for more than 2 minutes straight, lol, so while I had it at home I doodled this... (
<img300*0:stuff/koedoodle.jpg>

considering the confusion about what is/isn't in Koe I thought I'd upload it, though is far from being a good map :P

2008-10-02 [Blood Raven]: I don't see Mika swimming around? :P
lol, just kidding. I like it, even though it's not really a map. It makes up for it with scenic-ness :P

2008-10-27 [Sturmi]: hey everyone,
I'm very sorry I've been away for forever, but I've been incredibly busy with real life. I'll try to be around more often now, but I don't know if I'll be reliable enough to update some wikis constantly - which can be very annoying to players, so please someone help me out with that if you can... thanks

2008-11-11 [Blood Raven]: I second the above statement

2008-11-11 [Silverbullet]: Thirded!

2008-11-11 [Veltzeh]: You know what? I'm gonna fourth that. XD

2008-11-12 [Sturmi]: lol we're screwed.

2008-11-12 [Lepellier]: Ditto here.

2008-11-15 [Blood Raven]: *cries*

2008-11-17 [Silverbullet]: Aye, we can cry for the golden days of RoL and RoLA..

But if we all are in the same situation as Sturmi here, we have 'little' but not 'no' time to give to RoLA... we could use that time to try and get it moving a bit again and teach some of our newbies so they can take on more important roles and eventually replace us!
Yes?

2008-11-18 [Veltzeh]: Yeah. And I can keep my party running (if others post too), even if it is slow. X)

2008-11-19 [Sturmi]: well we failed at first to get some new players. We'd have to make a huge campaign and be really active for a while for that to work...

2008-11-20 [Blood Raven]: meh, as I see it, all RPing has died on ET. It's not just us. Everybody seems to have moved on. At least everyone I know.

2008-11-20 [Veltzeh]: I role-play more IRL nowadays. I'd rather have a balance, though. :o

2008-11-20 [Silverbullet]: So, do we give up?
Do we make a small party just for ourselves? (I think P6 was gearing up for that..)
Or do we train newbs?

2008-11-21 [Veltzeh]: Well, I'm not giving up yet! My party will try to live! X)
